David Cassidy, former '70s teen idol and star of "The Partridge Family," was sentenced to three months in rehab and five years' probation this week after pleading no contest to his third DUI charge in as many years. His lawyer said he was driven to drink by a court appearance.

Cassidy, 63, must also pay various fines and enroll in a nine-month alcohol education course, CNN reported.

The actor and singer's most recent DUI charge stems from a January incident near Los Angeles International Airport. Cassidy was reportedly stopped for making an illegal right turn on a red light and later blew a 0.19 percent — more than twice California's 0.08 legal limit — on a blood alcohol level test.

His manager told the media at the time that Cassidy had cracked under pressure after a stressful day in court.

"David just completed a stint in rehab and was doing very well in sobriety," manager Jo-Ann Geffen said in a statement. "He was in Los Angeles to attend depositions by Sony Pictures Television, respondents in a lawsuit filed by Cassidy in 2011 over what he claims are monies long due him from 'Partridge Family' merchandise, home video, etc. After attending his and his manager's depositions, it appears as if the pressure led to a brief relapse."
