The final "Deadpool 2" trailer has been released and, judging by the 2:13 video clip, fans can expect a whole load more action, quirky one-liners and snarky jabs courtesy of Marvel and 20th Century Fox.

The sequel sees Ryan Reynolds resume his role as the disfigured, cocky Wade Wilson, or as he is best known, as his superhero alias Deadpool.

However, this time he is not fighting crime alone. He is assembling a team of dejected superheroes to help him.

The anticipated comic book sequel sees Deadpool clash with time-traveling mutant soldier Cable, played by Josh Brolin, who kidnaps a young boy, Rolling Stone noted.

Realizing that he may be out of his depth, Deadpool assembles a crew that includes a man with absolutely no superhero powers but who responded to a classified ad.

"We need them tough, morally flexible, and young enough to carry their own franchise for 10 to 15 years," Deadpool quips, while interviewing his team, according to The Independent.

In the trailer, what ensues is a slew of slapstick violence, wall-shattering humor, dramatic action scenes and the "self-aware meta-commentary that made the first film so popular," Scott Mendelson writes for Forbes.

Starring alongside Reynolds is Brianna Hildebrand, Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, and Stefan Kapicic while David Leitch takes up directing for "Deadpool 2," Variety noted.

The original 2016 film grossed $783 million worldwide and went on to become the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time.

"Deadpool" eclipsed "The Matrix," which previously held the top R-rated title and raked in $742 million when it was released in 1999, Wired said.

"Deadpool 2" will hits theaters on May 18.
