Debbie Reynolds gave an update about Carrie Fisher on Christmas Day, posting on Twitter that the actress is "in stable condition" after suffering a medical emergency on a plane Friday.
“If there is a change, we will share it,” Tweeted Reynolds, Fisher's mom. “For all her fans & friends. I thank you for your prayers & good wishes.”
Fisher, 60, was on a flight from London when she experienced the medical emergency, CBS News reported. She was treated by paramedics after the plane landed in Los Angeles.
“We have an unresponsive passenger,” the pilot said in audio released from the flight.
TMZ was the first to report on the incident, saying that Fisher suffered a heart attack.
However, Fisher’s brother, Todd, said a lot of reports about the specific medical emergency his sister suffered has been mere speculation.
“We have to wait and be patient,” he said, according to CBS News. “We have so little information ourselves.”
“She’s obviously a very tough girl who’s survived many things,” Todd told KABC-TV over the weekend. “I encourage everyone to pray for her.”
Todd said his sister remained in an intensive care unit over the weekend, USA Today noted.
Fisher was in London filming season three of “Catastrophe” before heading back to Los Angeles.
The actress is widely known for her role as Princess Leia in “Star Wars.”
