NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders is officially divorced, and he took to Twitter Friday to announce how happy he is that the ordeal is over, also giving advice to men who are considering tying the knot.
Sanders, a former Dallas Cowboy and graduate of Florida State University, is now divorced from Pilar Sanders after a contentious 18-month legal battle in district court in Collin County, Texas.

He posted a series of tweets expressing his glee.
Despite Deion Sanders’ tweet, the divorce case is far from final, according to a Dallas Morning News interview with Sanders’ attorney, Larry Friedman
. He said District Judge Ray Wheless has severed multiple tort claims brought by Pilar Sanders into a separate case that will be heard by a jury. The allegations range from fraud and breach of fiduciary duty to mental distress and physical abuse.
Deion Sanders’ attorney could not be reached late Friday when the Dallas Morning News attempted to contact him.
The celebrity couple’s three children will live with Deion Sanders while his ex-wife gets visitation. He keeps the mansion in Prosper, and Pilar Sanders is responsible for her own legal fees.
The couple wed in 1999.
No date has been set on the jury trial. Civil claims are also pending.
The NFL Hall of Fame cornerback was a standout star with Cowboys. He retired from the league in 2006.
