Delta Air Lines employee uniforms, created by "Project Runway" fashion designer Zac Posen, were unveiled Tuesday, featuring three colors: "passport plum," "cruising cardinal" and "groundspeed graphite."

Female customer service agents and flight attendants will be seen wearing plum V-neck dresses, peplum sweaters, ottoman skirt suits, and wrap dresses, Travel Weekly noted. Men will be wearing graphite-colored three-piece suits, plum crew-neck sweaters, and ties with a Delta logo print.

"We wanted Delta employees to look glamorous on the job without sacrificing functionality and style," Posen said, according to Travel Weekly. "I worked alongside employees to understand how they interact with the clothes they wear and developed a look that empowers and excites, because we want Delta’s global workforce to exude the confidence and thoughtfulness that reflects the airline’s brand."

According to Investor Place, Delta airlines has more than 60,000 frontline employees, and they’ll each be wearing Posen’s new designs.

"One of the things we are striving for is to make it more uniform," said Morgan Durrant, senior manager of Delta Communications, said according to the Silicon Valley Business Journal. "So no matter where the customer is in the world the color palette is consistent."

"Fit, form, function and style are all integral to the uniforms for Delta people, and Lands’ End is the right partner to deliver on these things," said Gil West, Delta’s senior executive vice president and chief operating officer, in a statement, the Business Journal noted.

Delta has nearly 180 million customers each year and gives jobs to more than 80,000 people from around the world.

The airline crew will begin wearing prototypes in December and the company plans to officially implement the uniforms by 2018.

The last time Delta updated uniforms was in 2006.
