Former Vice President Dick Cheney affixed his signature on a "waterboard kit" at the request of actor-comedian Sacha Baron Cohen in a video he posted on social media Sunday.

The video opens with the text: "Imagine if Sacha Baron Cohen had been undercover secretly filming a new show for a year." It eventually depicts Cheney apparently signing the waterboard kit.

“That’s a first,” the former vice president under George W. Bush tells the “Borat” actor in the 22-second clip. “That’s the first time I ever signed a waterboard.”

The video is the latest clip promoting Baron Cohen's new Showtime series, "Who Is America?"

The video came a week after Cohen hinted at the series, which will debut July 15 and focus on politics of both well-known and unknown Americans.

“Sacha is a comedic genius who shocks you with his audacity, bravery and inventiveness,” Showtime President and CEO David Nevins said in a statement. “He is the premier provocateur of our time, but not for the sake of ‘gotcha’ moments. Behind the elaborate setup is a genuine quest for the truth about people, places and politics. Nobody knows how to cause a stir like Sacha Baron Cohen, and it’s going to be fascinating to watch what happens when ‘Who Is America?’ is released on the world.”

Cohen starred the 2006 film “Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.”

Reaction on social media to Cheney's waterboarding kit signing was mixed, ranging from disbelief to humor to “where can I get a waterboard kit?”
