Dolly Parton entered the Guinness World Records this week for the most decades with a Top 20 hit in Billboard's Hot Country Songs charts and the most hits on the Billboard Hot Country charts by a female artist, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported Wednesday.

Guinness World Records traveled to Nashville to present Parton with the two certificates, which will be logged in the 2018 edition, the newspaper stated.

"I am just honored and proud that people have loved my music for all of these years," Parton said in a Guinness World Record YouTube video about the honors. "You never know whether you'll wind up in a book, much less the Guinness Book of World Records. To me that's fine accomplishment and I'm very humbled and proud of that."

Guinness World Records said in a statement that Parton edged out country music icon George Jones charted from the 1950s–1990s, but had reached the top 20 in five of the seven decades.

"I've always just written from my heart," Parton said in the Guinness statement. "I try not to dwell on just trying to be commercial and what's a radio hit. Usually when an idea hits me, it comes from my heart."

Guinness noted that 21 of the 107 Parton hits came with her former partner Porter Wagoner. Parton first charted in the Top 20 in 1967 with "Something Fishy." She was a credited artist on 73 other top 20 hits, including her most recent, a new version of her beloved 1974 title "Jolene," featuring a capella quintet Pentatonix, which debuted at 18 in October 2016, Guinness wrote.

The News Sentinel wrote that Parton received honors from the Emmys for her work on Smoky Mountains Rise, her telethon that raised more than $9 million for the My People Fund, which was used to help victims of the Nov. 28, 2016, Gatlinburg wildfires.

She also was nominated for a Midsouth Regional Emmy Award in the community service category with collaborators Nicholas E. Dugger, Danny Nozell, Pete Owens, Scott Durand, Shanna Strassberg, Edie Lynn Hoback, and John Zarling, the newspaper added.
