Dr. Gwen Korovin, Joan Rivers' personal throat doctor, "categorically denies" taking a selfie photo with the anesthetized comedienne as well as "performing an unauthorized procedure" before Rivers stopped breathing during her visit to Manhattan's Yorkville Endoscopy clinic.
CNN reported that these denials were made by an unnamed source said to be close to Korovin.
This week Korovin's lawyer released a statement saying she could not comment on what happened at the clinic due to state and federal confidentiality laws.

"Gwen S. Korovin, M.D. is a highly experienced, board certified otolaryngologist. She maintains privileges at one of the city's most prestigious hospitals. She is respected and admired by her peers in the medical community and she is revered by her patients," the statement added.
A TMZ reporter attempted to confront Korovin on the street this week, but the doctor did not issue a comment, and ignored the ambushing journalist.
According to The Daily Mail, Korovin is a well-known doctor to the stars, and counts Celine Dion, Lady Gaga, John Mayer, and Hugh Jackman among her patients. She was featured performing a laryngoscopy on Dion in the 2010 documentary film "Through the Eyes of the World."
Several investigations including one by the New York health department are ongoing in the Rivers case, and it appears the public will only truly learn how she died upon the conclusion of those investigations.
Melissa River, Joan's daughter,
returned to Twitter on Wednesday, releasing a statement of thanks to her mother's fans and supporters.
"As my son Cooper and I mourn the loss of my mother, we want to thank everyone for the beautiful cards and flowers conveying heartfelt messages and condolences, which continue to arrive from around the world and through social media," her note began.
"My mother would have been overwhelmed by the scope and depth of the love that people have expressed for her. It is certainly helping to lift our spirits during this time. We are forever grateful for your kindness and support in continuing to honor my mother's legacy, and for remembering the joy and laughter that she brought to so many."
