A "Dr. Who" beheading scene was removed from this Saturday's upcoming episode out of respect for two American journalists decapitated by Islamic State militants in recent weeks.
A BBC spokesman released a short statement that said, "In light of recent news events, we have made an edit to episode three out of respect."
Filmed in February, the episode, titled "Robot of Sherwood," is set in medieval England, and features a climactic fight scene between Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham. It remains unclear if the removal of the beheading will alter the original plotline in any way.

The Islamic State, also known as ISIS and ISIL, released video footage of American reporter Steven Sotloff being beheaded by a militant on Tuesday. A similar beheading video of journalist James Foley was released Aug. 19. The White House confirmed the authenticity of both videos.
At the conclusion of the second video, a third hostage, identified as David Cawthorne Haines, a 44-year-old non-profit worker from Scotland, was threatened with the same fate as the American journalists.
Many analysts noted the apparent British accent of the militant in the video, who was dubbed "Jihadi John." Some believe the man is a London rapper named Abdel-Majed Abdel-Bary, who goes by the stage name L Jinny, but the identity has not been confirmed.
Many Muslim men and women born in western countries like the U.S. and U.K. have defected to Syria and Iraq to join and fight for the Islamic State.
