Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson shared the first photo of his baby girl Jasmine on Instagram over the weekend, just days after his girlfriend Lauren Hashian gave birth to the couple's first child.
"Christmas came early," the 43-year-old wrote alongside a photo of his new daughter lying on his chest. The former professional wrestler-turned-A-list action actor explained how
"grateful" he is for the Wednesday arrival, according to People magazine.
"Kinda crazy but in this cool and powerful skin to skin bonding moment with my newborn baby Jasmine, I had just one wish I asked the universe . . . Give me the strength to be a better man today than I was yesterday," Johnson captioned the sweet picture.
"If I can accomplish that, then I'd have a good shot at being a great father. To all you young men out there who will be fathers one day, the goal of 'being better' will never steer you wrong," he continued.
The birthing experience gave him a "new respect" for the "strength and beauty" of women, Johnson said.
"I was right there during labor, helping her breathe, every highly intense contraction, every second of pain, right there watching the actual birth, cutting the cord and wiping the tears," he wrote. "Incredible."
According to E! Online, this is Johnson's second time becoming a father. He and his ex-wife Dany Garcia have a 14-year-old daughter, Simone.
The birth tops off a banner year for Johnson, who professionally saw two of his movies — "Furious 7" and "San Andres" — pull in a combined $1.988 billion in movie receipts
worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.
Hashian, a singer-songwriter, expressed her happiness over the upcoming birth of the couple's daughter on Instagram a week ago.
"So grateful and in awe of this time," Hashian captioned her photo. "To experience creating a little life is just incredible. This beautiful cycle of life and womanhood beginning again."
