Elisabeth Hasselbeck is expected to announce Wednesday that she will be joining "Fox & Friends" after spending 10 years on ABC's "The View," the Washington Post reported.
Hasselbeck, 36, will step into Gretchen Carlson's spot on the Fox News Channel's signature morning show, according to a
Fox News press release. Carlson, in the meantime, will get her own one-hour show on the network in the fall, the press release said.
"Elisabeth’s warm and engaging personality made her a star on 'The View,'" said Fox News chairman and CEO Roger Ailes in the news release. "She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise."

New York Daily News said Hasselbeck will likely comment on the move during "The View" broadcast on Wednesday.
"I have been a long-time fan of 'Fox & Friends' and am excited to be joining their team in September as it is an honor to call the Fox News Channel my new television home," Hasselbeck said in the Fox News release.
Hasselbeck, wife of former NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck, was a finalist on the 2001 reality show "Survivor." Her popularity on "Survivor" led her to the "The View" in 2003, according to the Associated Press. There, her conservative views often clashed with some of her more liberal hosts, the Post added.
"We have had 10 wonderful years with Elisabeth and she will now be swimming in new waters," said "The View's creator and co-host Barbara Walters said in comments released by the Fox news release. "We will miss her and wish her everything good."
The Associated Press said Hasselbeck's upcoming move continues a recent revolving door of "The View" co-hosts. Walters recently announced that she will be leaving television completely in the spring while Joy Behar, one of the show's original hosts, said she is departing, too.
