Elizabeth Berkley thrilled “Saved By the Bell” fans with her "I'm So Excited" performance on Week 5 of "Dancing With the Stars," remaking a classic scene from the show.
Berkley, performing with dancer Val Chmerkovskiy, danced out of a bedroom remarkably like that of the well-loved Jessie Spano she played in “Saved By the Bell.” It was a replay of an iconic scene from the show, when Spano realized she was addicted to caffeine pills. In the remake, Berkley called them “jive pills.”

“Thank you so much for taking me back into a time warp and like the best times in my life,” said judge Carrie Ann Inaba at the end of the performance, raising her hands in excitement. That reaction came despite critiquing Berkley’s kicks and pirouette.
The "DWTS" week’s theme was the "most memorable year of your life."
“Between the bow and the leg warmers,
I don’t even know what to say, it’s overwhelming,” Berkley told E! Online after the performance. “And the hair, it’s pretty wide you know, it’s like oh my God I forgot what it felt like to be this poofy.”
Performing to “I’m So Excited” by the Pointer Sisters with the flashback to Berkley’s Spano character was “surreal, but extremely fun,” the star told E!.
A.C. Slater — er, Mario Lopez — was even in the crowd to cheer on his former on-screen flame. Apparently it was a good night for Lopez.
A generation of people were impacted by “Saved By the Bell,” and the positive response online to Berkley and Chmerkovskiy’s dance proved it.
