Elon Musk and Amber Heard are back on the market after the billionaire inventor and actress split after dating a year.
The two reportedly met in 2013, according to the New York Post's Page Six. Heard, 31, recently ended a 15-month marriage with actor Johnny Depp. E! News reported that Musk, 46, was also going through a divorce from ex-wife Talulah Riley.
"The timing wasn't good for them," a source told Us Weekly. "He's super busy and works all the time. Amber is filming ("Aquaman") in Australia until October. She's in no position to settle with him. She feels her career is just starting."
Musk reportedly pursued Heard "for a long time," only to be rejected by the actress, but they made their relationship public in April when the "Magic Mike XXL" star shared an Instagram of them together, Us Weekly reported. Heard was even given a Tesla, the gossip magazine stated.
In April, 2016, Heard entered a guilty plea to making a false customs declaration by stating she had no animals on a private jet in Brisbane when she actually had two terriers, The Guardian reported then. In exchange for the plea, Australian officials dropped more serious charge of illegally importing animals, which carried a 10-year maximum penalty. Heard had to pay a one-month good behavior bond of $1,000 for the lesser charge.
Along with filming "Aquaman," Heard will appear in "Justice League," scheduled to hit theaters Nov. 17.
Musk has his hands full with Tesla's plans to expand on the electric car industry with the introduction of the family Model S this year while his space company SpaceX continued to ferry cargo to the International Space Station with one eye on Mars in the near future, The Telegraph noted.
