Music icon Elton John said he might have played a role in John Lennon's reconciliation with Yoko Ono.

John, 77, reflected on the couple's reunion in his new documentary "Elton John: Never Too Late," which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday.

"I was probably the catalyst of John and Yoko getting back together," John said, according to People. He referred to Lennon's 1974 appearance at his Thanksgiving Day concert in Madison Square Garden.

"If I hadn't told him to do the show, maybe he had never met Yoko again," John said. It was reported that Lennon was unaware Ono was at the concert.

"Of course, they did get back together and they had Sean [Lennon]," John said. "He became in love again, and so his wildness, he kind of stopped the drugs, stopped the craziness. I was happy for him."

But it "didn't stop my craziness," John said.

Lennon and Ono met in London in 1966 and tied the knot in Gibraltar in 1969, just a year before The Beatles' split. The two separated for 18 months before reconciling in 1974. In October 1975, they welcomed their son Sean. Lennon was shot and killed in New York City  in 1980.

Elsewhere in his documentary, John spoke candidly about a drug binge in a New York hotel room during which he and Lennon had "mountains of coke coming out of our noses." At one point, John said he was "being paranoid" and when hearing a knock at the door worried it was the police.

"It took me about five minutes to walk across to the peephole, and I saw it was Andy Warhol. And I went to John, 'Andy,' and John went, ‘No way!' So he kept ringing the bell," he said.

But, since the famed artist "carried the camera everywhere — the Polaroid," John and Lennon did not want to let him into the room.

"Like, no thanks," John said. "That was the fun part of cocaine."
