Eminem came face-to-face with a man who broke into his gated California home, according to a new report.

The incident took place at around 4 a.m. on an unspecified day in April when Mathew David Hughes, 26, allegedly climbed through a window that he had broken with a paving stone to access the house, TMZ noted.

In doing so, he triggered an alarm that alerted Eminem to the break-in. Upon further investigation, the rapper discovered Hughes in the living room and detained him until his security arrived, a representative for the Oscar winner told XXL Magazine.

It is alleged that Hughes was a fan of Eminem and had broken into his house to meet the "8 Mile" star. He was taken into custody and charged with first-degree home invasion and malicious destruction of a building. He is being held on a $50,000 bond at the Macomb County Jail.

The case was not referred to a federal prosecutor.
