Eric Bolling, a Fox News anchor, is reportedly weighing a run for Senate.

"When the lights go down on my TV career, the next step is running for Senate," the cohost of "The Fox News Specialists" told NJ.com.

Bolling, who grew up in Chicago, was an original cohost of "The Five" and host of "Follow the Money" on Fox News. He calls himself one of President Donald Trump’s longest and most loyal supporters, and said he aims to challenge a sitting Republican in the South, though he didn't specify from which state, Politico reported.

"A lot of Republicans run as conservatives only to be elected, and we find out they’re not conservative at all," Bolling said, according to Politico.

Bolling, 54, is a former commodities trader who recently released a book "The Swamp: Washington’s Murky Pool of Corruption and Cronyism and How Trump Can Drain It."

Bolling, who joined Fox News in 2007 after serving as a CNBC analyst, signed a new long-term contract with the network this month, The Hill reported.
