Kelly Ripa is expected to return to “Live! With Kelly and Michael” on Tuesday, after Erin Andrews subbed for her last week and got rave reviews from many watching.
Ripa disappeared after being blindsided by co-host Michael Strahan’s announcement that he was leaving the show to join “Good Morning America” full-time in September.
Ripa sent an email to her staff late Friday night saying she would return to the show on Tuesday,
People magazine reported.
"Sorry for this late Friday night email. I wanted to thank you all for giving me the time to process this new information. Your kindness, support, and love has overwhelmed me. We are a family and I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday morning. Love, Kelly," the email read.
Ripa learned of Strahan’s impending departure during a meeting the previous Tuesday morning, shortly before it was announced publicly. The announcement resembled the 2011 departure of Regis Philbin, which Ripa learned about 20 minutes before it was announced on-air,
E! Online reported.
She was scheduled to be out on Friday and Monday for a 20th anniversary vacation with her husband and family. Ripa reportedly canceled the trip.
Ana Gasteyer filled in for Ripa on Wednesday, and “Dancing with the Star” co-host Andrews filled in Thursday and Friday, with “Pretty Little Liars” star Shay Mitchell accompanying Strahan on the show on Monday,
