"The Wolverine" star Famke Janssen was targeted in a break-in over the weekend when an intruder gained entry into her New York City apartment and left a creepy calling card, the book "The Lonely Doll."
The Dutch actress contacted police after returning to her Greenwich Village penthouse Saturday and finding a copy of the 1957 book conspicuously placed.

"She walked into her bedroom and noticed a children's book standing on the shelf beside her bed,"
a law enforcement source told the New York Post.
The book is reportedly about a lonely doll named Edith who meets two bear friends who promise to never, ever leave her.
Janssen, 47, is the only one with access to the apartment and said she didn’t notice anything missing. Detectives found no sign of forced entry. Police are reviewing surveillance footage in hopes of finding out who the perpetrator is.
In 2005, Janssen filed a police report accusing a fanatic of aggravated harassment after he reportedly wouldn’t stop sending her letters and photos. Officials are also investigating whether the two incidents might be related.
Janssen is known for her past roles in "Taken," "X-Men," and the Netflix series "Hemlock Grove."
