Following their 31-34 loss on Monday, The Auburn Tigers finished in second place in the poll, which featured the nation's top 25 teams. The tigers were followed by the Michigan State Spartans, South Carolina Bulldogs, and Missouri Tigers. The Washington Huskies rounded out the top 25 college football teams in the poll.
Monday night's FSU victory was followed by a memorable post-game speech by the team's quarterback, Jameis Winston, whose unique manner of speaking made headlines and
led to online criticisms from some who focused on it being grammatically incorrect.
Winston responded to critics in several Twitter posts the following day.
Winston, who also won this year's Heisman Trophy, was investigated in 2013 for his
alleged involvement in a sexual-battery case dating back to December 2012 that involved a 19-year-old undergraduate.

After reviewing the evidence,
the state prosecutor decided to drop the charges against Winston in early December.
Throughout the investigation, Winston declined to be interviewed about the charges; however his attorney admitted his client had sex with the female undergraduate, which he said was consensual.
