Gal Gadot is Wonder Woman. The 28-year-old "Fast and Furious" actress was confirmed Wednesday as the choice to play Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel" followup.
Gadot will share the screen with Henry Cavill, in his second film as Superman, and Ben Affleck as Batman.

Though still unnamed, the Warner Brothers movie has a scheduled release date of July 17, 2015.
"Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe,"
Snyder said, according to Variety. "Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature-film incarnation of this beloved character."
The Israeli-born Gadot, a 2004 Miss Universe contestant, starred in three films of the "Fast & Furious" series, including this year's "Fast & Furious 6," and had a supporting role in "Date Night" and "Knight & Day."
Gadot beat out a host of other actresses for the coveted role. In October, rumors heated up regarding MMA star Gina Carano as a possible choice for the iconic female superhero, and the actress spoke openly about her interest in the role. Still, her casting isn't likely to create as much of an uproar as Affleck's at Batman did.
The character, a warrior princess of the Amazons, first appeared in DC Comics in 1941. Actress Lynda Carter brought her to life in the Wonder Woman television series, from 1975-79. Adrianne Palicki also starred in a Wonder Woman pilot that never became a series.
