Customers at a Georgia gas station were creeped out when they discovered a snake hiding in one of the gas pumps.

A man who was getting gas managed to get the snake out of the pump. Brandon Radke covered his hands with a flannel shirt and removed the snake, WSB-TV reported.

Radke told the station he likes snakes, and he took it into the woods to release it safely.

“Once you grab it behind the head,” Radke said, “it can’t really reach around and get you.”

Because the snake was coiled around the pump, Radke had to work for a bit to get it out, but he finally did. Rat snakes can give a painful bite but aren't venomous.

Another gas station customer, Pete Gault, said he would “have a heart attack” if he had been the one to see the snake, WSB-TV reported.

Another customer, David Witt, told the station, “He’s a better man than I am.”

Twitter fans were incredulous about the find.
