Singer George Michael has been released from a British hospital after being rushed there by ambulance May 22 for an unspecified health issue.
Michael, who has suffered from various health issues in the past few years, including nearly dying from pneumonia in 2011, has not made a comment about what caused him to spend time in the hospital.

“In response to newspaper reports today, we can confirm George was admitted to hospital on May 22.
He was discharged last weekend and is well and resting,” a spokesman told The Daily Mail. “He is very much looking forward to the release of his new single in July. Given the personal nature of this matter there will be no further comment.”
David Austin, a music producer and friend of Michael’s, told the Mirror, “It is just ridiculous what is happening. He is not ill, he has been mixing his record over the weekend, he is perfectly fine.”
The Mail said Michael’s fans have been worried for a few years now about his health, citing the head injury he received during the odd incident when he fell out of a moving car in May 2013 and his regular marijuana use. The Mirror said the Wham! singer has struggled with depression and drug addiction.
Fans showed their concern and relief at his hospital release online.
The lack of information about what was really wrong frustrated some fans. One tweeted, “Wish the team surrounding GM would be a *lot* more forthcoming about how he's really doing.”
Michael’s Twitter team sent out a thanks for all the well wishes since the news broke that the singer was ill and said, “We're looking forward to the release of George's new single in July!”
