George Strait will bring his farewell tour to a close with his final performance at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, this Saturday, and ticket prices have skyrocketed in the week preceding the big event.

Forbes reported that the average price of single ticket stood at nearly $700 on Tuesday, more than triple the average price of previous tour dates, $210.

"It’s far and away the most in-demand concert of the summer by every measure imaginable," Will Flaherty, a spokeman for ticket vendor SeatGeek.com, told The Dallas Morning News. "It’s off the charts."

Tony Rodriguez of Fort Worth told the paper, "I’ve been telling my wife for the past two months to get a really good dress" for the concert, after he paid $771 for each of his five tickets. The epic show comes just a day after the couple's wedding anniversary.

Straight has sold more than 45 million albums since his breakout single, "Unwound," was released in 1981, and he remains one of the most in-demand names in country music.

The show is set to be a blowout event — a veritable who’s who of country music. It will include appearances from Alan Jackson, Eric Church, Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Sheryl Crow, Ronnie Dunn, Vince Gill, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Lee Ann Womack, and more.

"I’m gonna miss the shows. I’m not gonna miss the traveling, but I’m gonna miss [the shows] a lot. I’ve been doing it so long," Strait said of his final tour, according to Nashville.com.

"It’ll be interesting to see just how I handle that in 2015. We’ll see what happens, but I think I’m making the right choice. It’s the right decision. I’m pretty happy with my decision, knowing that I can still go out and do one-offs here and there."
