A shooting at a Dekalb County school in Georgia ended with a suspect in custody and thankfully no one hurt. The suspect reportedly fired at least one shot at the Atlanta-area elementary school.

Skycam images showed students running across the back parking lot of the Ronald E. McNair Discovery Learning Center and police gathered in the front of the building before the man was captured, USA Today said. A SWAT team was at the school and after the suspect fired, police returned fire.

WSB-TV News reported that a man dressed all in black and armed with an AK-47 was arrested. The TV station said a woman from inside the school called the station’s Action News line and explained that the suspect ordered her to call WSB-TV and the local police. Shots were heard while woman was on the phone.

WSB said parents were to pick up their children at a nearby Walmart.

NBC News reported that about 600 students attend the school and everyone in the building has been accounted for.

TheTrumpet.com identified that there has been a record number of school shootings in 2012, the deadliest being the Newtown, Conn., shooting that horrified the nation. And this year, the online site said, is off to a terrible start. The article listed eight school shootings in January alone.
