A couple featured as paranormal investigators on the Travel Channel show "Ghost Adventures" were found dead after a police standoff in suburban Reno, Nevada.
Mark Constantino and estranged wife Debby Constantino had a long history of domestic violence, said
KRNV-TV.
When police entered an apartment in Sparks on Tuesday afternoon they found both of them dead in what was initially called a hostage situation,
reported the Reno Gazette Journal.
The apartment they were found in belonged to the couple's daughter.
KRNV-TV said a day-long incident started at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday when a man was reported dead in northwest Reno and his roommate missing, The name of the rommate was reported to be Debby Constantino. The name of the man had not been released to the media.
Authorities "pinged" Debby Constantino's cellphone and determined her location was the apartment in Sparks.
After police knocked on the door of the Sparks apartment someone ordered them to leave, said the Gazette Journal. Officers then heard several shots.
Reno deputy police chief Tom Robinson said a suspect inside told officers "give me 15 minutes to gather my thoughts or I'll kill her."
Robinson said authorities tried to negotiate with the suspect before using explosives to breach the door. They found the Constantinos dead inside.
Police didn't say how they died.
The couple shared a
Facebook page that documented their paranormal work, said
Us Weekly, and fans posted condolences on a page mourning their deaths.
"Ghost Adventures" host Zak Bagans posted his condolences on Twitter along with other fans.
