Giada De Laurentiis announced this week that she and her husband of 11 years have decided to move forward with a divorce after amicably separating over the summer.
The Food Network celebrity chef and her husband, Todd Thompson, were married in May 2003.
"After an amicable separation since July, Todd and I have decided to end our marriage,"
De Laurentiis wrote in a statement on her website Monday. "Although our decision to separate comes with a great deal of sadness, our focus on the future and overwhelming desire for our family's happiness has given us the strength to move forward on separate, yet always connected paths."
"Todd and I share a beautiful daughter and a lifetime of great memories that we both treasure more than anything," she continued. "We are so thankful for our friends and family, and really appreciate the support in this time of change."
The 44-year-old De Laurentiis is best known for her Emmy Award-winning cooking show, "Everyday Italian," in which she takes traditional Italian meal staples and boils them down into fast and healthy at-home versions.
She's been featured as a mentor on "The Next Food Network Star," and has also crafted a line of kitchen supplies, which are sold exclusively at Target. In July, she launched her very first restaurant, GIADA, in Las Vegas.
