Gingrich Mulls Another Sunday TV Show Circuit

Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich didn’t do too well on TV talk shows Sunday, when his controversial remarks drew rebukes from fellow Republicans. But he may be ready to try again, his spokesman Rick Tyler told The Hill.

Gingrich is mulling invitations from three of the shows, he said. That doesn’t include "Meet the Press," which has booked House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan after Gingrich appeared last weekend.

Reports of Gingrich’s demise as a candidate are vastly exaggerated, said Tyler, who blamed the media.

"The firefight started when the cowardly sensed weakness,” he said. “They fired timidly at first, then the sheep, not wanting to be dropped from the establishment’s cocktail-party invite list, unloaded their entire clip, firing without taking aim their distortions and falsehoods. Now, they are left exposed by their bylines and handles."
