A gun store owner reportedly shot a robber in Mableton, Georgia, after two armed men entered his store the day after Christmas.

According to police, the two armed suspects entered Jimmy Groover’s Dixie Gun and Pawn Store and tried to rob the owner at gunpoint on the morning of Dec. 26, the Daily Mail noted.

The incident was caught on what appears to be surveillance footage. In the video, the two suspects can be seen coming into the store with face masks on and their guns raised.

“Get down on the floor, get down on the floor or I’ll kill you,” the suspects shouted at Groover and his employee, according to the Daily Mail.

The employee is seen putting his hands up in a surrendering motion.

Groover, who was also armed, went for his gun and opened fire on the two men. In the process, he killed one of the suspects, while the other suspect fled the scene, the Daily Mail reported.

According to NBC 4 News, police are still looking for the other suspect.

Groover told police that he shot one of the attempted robbers because he felt he had “no choice” but to open fire on the suspects, WXIA-TV reported.

“I had no other choice. I hate that it happened,” he said, according to the station. “I’ve been doing this 30 years. Nothing like this has ever happened. I never wanted this to happen but I want to go home at night, too.”

Authorities say Groover, 64, is unlikely to face charges, considering the fact that he opened fire on the men out of self-defense, NBC 4 News noted.
