Hannah Storm is the latest sports anchor to take on the NFL for its handling of the Ray Rice domestic violence scandal, calling the league out on Sunday's "SportsCenter" for not punishing the Baltimore Ravens running back until after the video of him hitting his wife surfaced last week.

The debate over Rice's initial two-game — and now indefinite — suspension from the league has raged on for more than a week since TMZ aired footage of the football player knocking out Janay Rice in an Atlantic City casino elevator earlier this year.

The NFL's seemingly bungled handling of the controversy nearly moved Storm to tears as she explained the difficulty she's had explaining what happened to her kids.

"One of my daughters has her first fantasy football team this season, but at breakfast this week, instead of discussing how her team was doing, we watched the Ray Rice video play out again in all its ugliness," Storm said. "I spent this week answering seemingly impossible questions about the league's biggest stars. 'Mom, why did he do that? Why isn't he in jail? Why didn't he get fired?'"

Storm, a 52-year-old veteran ESPN anchor, went on to challenge what exactly the NFL means by its new zero tolerance policy towards domestic violence.

"If the NFL and the Ravens had to see that video to be moved to significant action, shouldn't those who support the league demand the same? To see action? To see change before believing as we all wait on the answer to this central question: What exactly does the NFL stand for?" Storm concluded.

Much of the social media response to Storm's comments has been supportive.
