The impending divorce of Homer and Marge Simpson – leaked by their own producer – is being disputed by the animated couple in a YouTube video that apparently relieved fans of "The Simpsons" have viewed more than 400,000 times since late last week.

Homer and Marge deny the rumor in their 1:25 clip as they sit under a banner that states "Together Forever."

The divorce rumor was started by executive producer Al Jean in the June 7 edition of Variety when he said Homer and Marge would legally separate because of Homer's narcolepsy. Then the semi-free Homer would eventually fall in love with his pharmacist, played by HBO "Girls" star Lena Dunham.

Jean's comments went viral and made the social media and mainstream entertainment media rounds.

"The story was first reported on CNN, then the real news started reporting it all over the world," says Marge Simpson in the video.

The animation appeared to have been made recently as it made reference to another viral moment on June 11 at the start of Game 4 of the NBA finals between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers when LeBron James accidently exposed himself before tipoff, noted the New York Post.

"Can't those news media guys cover more important things like LeBron's junk," Homer tells Marge in the video. "We all saw it Marge. We had to see it."

Homer goes on to declare his marriage with Marge was as "solid as a rock" before baby Maggie, playing the part of Cupid, shoots her father in the eye with an arrow, in classic "Simpson" style.

The backlash from "The Simpson" fans apparently led Jean to clarify his comments shortly after the Variety interview.

"It's the plot of the opening episode, and Lena Dunham is in the premiere episode," Jean told the Post. "There's more to it than that, but by Episode 3 everything's the same. … I never said the word 'divorced.' That implies finality. I was surprised that people would interpret it as a final move. The outpouring is a real testament to our show."
