Hugh Jackman has hinted he may be done portraying X-Men superhero Wolverine on the big screen.
Jackman told The Guardian in a Sept. 30 interview at the San Sebastian Film Festival that he doesn’t think he’ll take the role beyond next spring’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”

“Great parts always outgrow the actors that play them,” the Aussie said. “If you forget that, it’s at your own peril. They are working on it ('X-Men') now, and it would have to be very compelling for me to do it again. I’ve been doing it for 10 years.”
Jackman had earlier made similar
comments to Digital Spy, saying, “I know there’s an expiry date on this. I’m not 100 percent sure when that is – I’m also really sure it’s not just my decision. In fact, more likely not my decision! We’ll see.”
Meanwhile, a video of Jackman turning the tables on a reporter during a red carpet interview at the Zurich Film Festival is going viral.
While reporter Rollo Ross was interviewing the star, Jackman, who once taught physical education in London, recognized him as a former student.
Ross went on with business as usual until Jackman reminded him, “I used to teach you,” the star said. “I want to know how your physical education is progressing. It’s very important to me.”
After a few laughs, the interview continued with Ross asking Jackman how he affects the anger in his role as Wolverine. Joked Jackman: “You know what makes me angry Rollo? Students who don’t really listen.” As he went on about "students who don't jump in the pool when you tell them to," you get the feeling Ross might not have had an affinity for the water.
Jackman currently is promoting his new film called Prisoners, a Denis Villeneuve thriller.
