Three Iranian young people were arrested after they appeared singing and dancing in a video supporting the country’s World Cup team.
Col. Rahmatollah Taheri, a provincial police chief,
told The Associated Press that two 23-year-olds who were in the clips and a 26-year-old photographer were arrested. Some media are reporting that only two people were arrested.

The video was produced by Ajam, a London band that performs Iranian music, the AP said.
The Ajam band members
told CNN that the video has gone viral and they’d “gotten a lot of good feedback.”
“Traditionally, world cup songs are awful and this one’s not bad,” said CNN’s Becky Anderson.
Six Iranian men and women were arrested in May after they appeared in a video singing and dancing to “Happy” by Pharrell Williams, the AP said. They were later released.
Some believe such displays promote Western behaviors and lead people away from the Islamic Republic. Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has pushed a more moderate approach, but has been criticized by hardliners.
The news of the arrests over the World Cup video led some to comment online.
