British man Jack Reynolds got his first tattoo on his 104th birthday, becoming the oldest person ever to go under the needle, according to Guinness World Records.

On Wednesday, an artist at Pete's Who tattoo parlor printed "Jacko 6.4.1912" on the upper arm of Reynolds, whose birthday is April 6, 1912. Reynolds' daughter, Jayne Goodwin, 55, and grandson Shane Spencer, 35, lent their morale support by getting tattoos of their own.

"I'd rather be doing this than getting a haircut," Reynolds said during the procedure.

The great-grandfather told "Good Morning Britain," according to The Telegraph, that he initially thought he would get the tattoo on "my bum."

"I'd prefer to see it on my arm, but I've got skinny arms," Reynolds told the program. "I've got weights to try and make them bigger, but we'll see."

Goodwin told the show, though, that her father realized that getting the tattoo on his butt may not be a good idea.

"He initially joked about getting it on his bottom, but then wasn't too keen on having to get out his bum to show people," Goodwin said.

The Huffington Post reported that Reynolds did it all for charity, helping raise $3,400 for a local hospice. The website stated that Reynolds has in the past raised money for the ALS Foundation, taking part in the ALS ice bucket challenge at 102.

Many showed their excitement for Reynolds on social media.
