The mother of comatose Jahi McMath posted a photo on social media of the California teen who was declared brain dead two years ago as she continues her vigil and fight for a daughter she believes lives on.
The photo was part of Nailah Winkfield's first update in about three months, saying: "Jahi as healthy and beautiful as ever, proving the naysayers wrong. A fighter, A warrior, A blessed child, Gods got your back little girl, keep fighting. Your testimony will be a great one,” reported

The Oakland girl, now 15, was pronounced brain dead after undergoing surgery to treat sleep apnea in 2013. Her family has been fighting to keep her on life support since then. The family is suing UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland for medical negligence in the botched tonsil surgery. The lawsuit claims the hospital mishandled the surgery and hounded Jahi’s mother to donate her organs.
Last week’s photo sparked a new wave of debate about the case, with some criticizing the family.
The post on the Keep Jahi Mcmath on life support Facebook page on Friday was later removed, but some
online news stories were still featuring the photo.
The family posted a plea for kindness, requesting “if you are here to spew your negative thoughts please kindly delete your comments and remove yourself.”
That post also received a flood of comments.
