Jana Duggar, the eldest daughter on TLC's reality show "19 Kids and Counting," is reportedly ready to leave the series in order to attend college and pursue her own career, much to the chagrin of her father.
Gossip magazines have been churning out stories for months claiming that Jana Duggar is "worn out" and "tired" of acting as an unpaid babysitter and parent to her younger siblings.
“It’s absolutely ridiculous how much the family makes Jana and the older siblings do,”
a source close to the family told RadarOnline.com in October. “[Parents] Jim Bob and Michelle have totally transitioned a lot of their parental responsibilities onto her. Ever since she was young, she’s had to watch over the house while Jim Bob and Michelle would go out for date night alone.”
But now OK! Magazine is reporting that the 25-year-old has had enough and plans to leave her family's Arkansas home and pursue her education.
"Jana just turned 25, so she knows she needs to get on with her education if she doesn't want to be stuck at her mom and dad's house in Arkansas forever," a family source said. "She told her parents that she was looking at Christian colleges and would be applying soon."
Family patriarch Jim Bob Duggar is reportedly not too happy with that plan, though. The insiders claim he is trying to talk Jana out of leaving.
Fans of the show shared their opinions on social media.
