White house senior adviser Jared Kushner released a statement Monday applauding the "great progress" made during the first part of President Donald Trump's trip overseas, highlighting a handful of things the administration has been able to accomplish so far.

The statement was posted online by ABC News Politics (@ABCPolitics), and said that Trump’s objectives for the trip were to “help unite the world against intolerance and terrorism." The team said that they have “made great progress toward that goal in Saudi Arabia.”

Kushner cited the signing of a “landmark defense cooperation agreement negotiated by the President,” a new center to fight against extremism, and gaining the cooperation from countries all around that region to “outlaw, track and stop the financing of terror.”

He added, “We are grateful to our hosts and look forward to continuing to accomplish the President’s ambitious objectives on this trip.”

Kushner personally helped negotiate the $110 billion arms deal with the Saudis, which Trump signed over the weekend during his visit, CNN reported

Kushner and wife Ivanka Trump are accompanying the president on his first major foreign trip as commander in chief. After a few days in Saudi Arabia, Trump traveled to Israel Monday with a full schedule ahead, including separate meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, a visit to the Holocaust memorial Yad Vashem, and the first visit to the Western Wall — an important key Jewish holy site — by a sitting president.
