Jared Martin, 'Dallas' Actor, Dies at 75

Jared Martin, who played Steven "Dusty" Farlow on the original "Dallas" series, died Wednesday of pancreatic cancer at his home in Philadelphia. He was 75.

Son Christian Martin confirmed his death on Twitter, and Linda Gray and others tweeted condolences, according to Deadline.

Martin was a fan favorite on "Dallas" in the 70s and 80s, and he also played in many other TV shows including "The Partridge Family," "The Fantastic Journey," "The Six Million Dollar Man," "How the West Was Won," and "War of the Worlds," Deadline reported. Martin also acted in films including "Westworld" and "The Lonely Lady" with Pia Zadora.

Martin eventually retired from acting and co-founded the Big Picture Alliance, a group that teaches filmmaking to inner city kids. He also worked as a professional painter and photographer, according to the Hollywood Reporter. One of his students remembered him with great fondness on Twitter.

Martin's son Christian is general manager for video at SiriusXM, and daughter Liz Cole is an executive producer for "Dateline NBC." He is also survived by his wife of 17 years, Yu Wei.
