Jay Osmond has revealed that he had a "mini stroke" that was triggered by the stress in his life. The 65-year-old, who is the brother of Donny and Marie Osmond, announced the news in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
"I didn’t want to alarm anyone so I hadn’t said this earlier. A couple of months ago, I came really close to a stroke. BP over 200. They said I had a mini stroke," Jay wrote.
"This was brought on by stresses I was under. I went on a couple of medications and have been trying to keep calm. Because of some stresses (non-work related), my BP has been a little high again. My angel Karina has been helping me deal with it...(I had a couple of people ask me about this and I didn’t want the rumors to get around) Love you all."
Jay is not the only member of the Osmond clan to suffer from heart issues. His brother, Jimmy, had a stroke in late 2018 during a performance of "Peter Pan," according to Fox News. That same year their brother, Tom, was put on life support after undergoing quadruple bypass surgery.
"My brother Tom is a great example of our Savior’s love," Marie tweeted at the time. "He has a broken [heart] and contrite spirit!" She asked followers to go to her "Facebook & Website, [and] see why he needs prayers today. I love you my sweet Brother."
Although Tom is hearing impaired, he occasionally performed with his siblings on the Osmond family specials that were a part of the 1970s and early 1980s.
