Jeff Goldblum's Son Makes Him a Dad for the First Time at Age 62

Jeff Goldlblum welcomed the birth of his son on Saturday as the 62-year-old actor became a dad for the first time.

Goldlum, who's married to 32-year-old gymnast Emilie Livingston, told David Letterman recently on “The Late Show with David Letterman” that his wife told him she was pregnant on the day of their Los Angeles wedding in November 2014, according to the New York Daily News. Both first-time parents were thrilled to welcome their son, Charlie Ocean, on Independence Day.

“We're so excited to share the wonderful news of the birth of our son, Charlie Ocean Goldblum, born on the 4th of July. Independence Day,” Goldblum posted on his Facebook page on Tuesday.



The day of his son’s birth is ironic, since Goldblum, who starred in the original 1996 “Independence Day” movie, is also set to reprise his role in the 2016 film “Independence Day: Resurgence,” according to E! Online. Goldblum is also well-known for his roles in the blockbuster films “Jurassic Park,” “Jurassic Park: The Lost World,” and “The Fly.”

Although Goldlum had two previous marriages to actresses Patricia Gaul and Geena Davis, neither of those unions resulted in any children.

When asked on the “Larry King Now” show in 2012 if he ever wanted to be a father, Goldblum said, “I’m thinking about it!” before turning to Livingston and asking her if she ever wanted children, according to E! Online.

“I think she does,” Goldblum said on the show.

Over this eventful Fourth of July weekend, Goldblum also posted an enigmatic 12-second first teaser trailer for his “Independence Day: Resurgence” film on his Facebook page.
