A-list celebrities Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer recently had a girls' day out, and let the world in on the fun by posting photos to Twitter and Instagram.
The location was unknown, but the highlight of the day was Lawrence and Schumer riding tandem on a jet ski.
"Contrary to recent reports from a daydream I just had, Schumer and Lawrence are not filming a lakeside remake of 'Thelma & Louise' in which everything is feminist, everyone survives, and nothing hurts,"
wrote Amy Zimmerman of the Daily Beast.
"Rather, they're engaging in a little known celebrity rite called forging A-list friendships, in which beautiful people circle one another slowly before rising on their hind legs to snap a series of enviable, candid Instagrams," Zimmerman continued.
Schumer added an Instagram photo of her, Lawrence and the other women on rafts with the caption "Binders of women," referencing one of Mitt Romney's presidential debate quotes from 2012.
"There is perhaps nobody in the world that better epitomizes the phrase 'friend crush' more than Jennifer Lawrence …except, perhaps, Amy Schumer,"
commented People magazine's Julia Emmanuele.
"So, when Schumer posted a series of adorable photos of the two on vacation together on her Instagram this week, our first thought – after the obligatory, 'Why haven't we been invited?!' – was how right it seems that Lawrence and Schumer would hang out."
Schumer, the star of Comedy Central's "Inside Amy Schumer," is currently in the afterglow of her first movie, "Trainwreck," which has earned $68.1 million in domestic theaters since July 17,
according to Box Office Mojo.
The Academy Award-winning Lawrence, star of the "Hunger Games" and "X-Men" movie franchises, is slated to appear in their latest productions. "Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2" will hit theaters Nov. 20 while "X-Men: Apocalypse" will make the screen May 27.
