"The View" co-host Jenny McCarthy is engaged to actor Donnie Wahlberg, she announced on the show Wednesday.
McCarthy, 41, told her fellow hosts that Wahlberg, who stars on the CBS series "Blue Bloods" and is the brother of movie star Mark Wahlberg, popped the question over the weekend with the help of her 11-year-old son Evan.

"This weekend I was sitting with Donnie ... and he went into the other room and out came Evan with a card that said 'Will' and he handed it to me,"
McCarthy said on "The View." "Then Evan ran away and Evan came back with a card that said 'You.' ... I just started crying and then Evan came back into the room with the word 'Marry' — but spelled wrong."
McCarthy said then Wahlberg and her son appeared together.
"The last time, Donnie came out with Evan and Donnie's shirt said 'Me' ... and he got down on his knee," she added.
The couple has been together since the summer of 2013 and are considering getting hitched in August or next year, said ABC News.
It will be the second marriage for both McCarthy and Wahlberg. Wahlberg ended his nine-year marriage with Kim Fey in 2008 and has two sons. McCarthy divorced her son's father, director John Asher, in 2005.
E! News reported that the two first met on McCarthy's VH1 talk show that has since been canceled. They began dating after they appeared on Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live" and went public with relationship in 2013.
"I've said on every interview that I was like, 'Never get married again ever,' and, of course, you never say never," McCarthy said on the talk show "Bethenny" recently. "I think (Wahlberg) would be an amazing husband, so if he does, I would for sure say yes. I wouldn't be surprised if I was the one proposing."
Along with his work on "Blue Bloods," Wahlberg will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the boy band New Kids On the Block in Las Vegas in July.
