Jill Duggar and husband Derick Dillard revealed this week that they are expecting a baby boy this spring.
"I was really excited," Dillard told People magazine. "As a new dad, to have a firstborn son to be our first child and be the leader of his siblings, it is very special."
Jill Duggar, whose family stars on the TLC reality show "19 Kids & Counting," is 18 weeks along, according to reports. She learned the gender of the baby during an ultrasound Saturday, People noted.
Three of Duggar's siblings also attended the ultrasound.
"I thought all along we were having a girl. Everyone made their guesses," she told the magazine.
Duggar told Us Weekly she took three pregnancy tests when she suspected she might be expecting.
"We were super excited," she said, according to the magazine. "We prayed together, and thanked God for this new little life. I was screaming and everything. He was like, 'Don't get too excited! You might stress out the baby or something.' He's so cute. He's so sweet."
The happy couple was married on June 21 after a brief courtship.
"19 Kids & Counting" airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on TLC.
