Jill Duggar Dillard and her husband Derick Dillard are preparing for the birth of their baby by writing down encouraging Bible verses and the words to some of their favorite hymns.
Jill Dillard posted photos of herself and her husband copying Bible verses, along with pictures of notecards and papers, on her Instagram account this week.
“Writing out bible verses for encouragement during pregnancy, labor and delivery! #scriptureboard #babydilly #pregnancyprep #blessedparents,” she posted.
The newly married couple
told The Christian Post that it’s important to them to pass their religious values onto their children and to set a good example.
"Well, ultimately, we want to be an example for them. For a daughter, I want to show her how a man should treat her, just like Jill's dad did for her," Derick Dillard told CP. "And just be the best dad I can be to both my sons and daughters and really purpose to teach them the Word of God early on and pray that they will come to the Lord early in life. And helping them be open, not afraid to come to us about anything."
Jill Dillard shared the same sentiment with CP. "Both of our parents have had the hearts of their children, knowing that they can come to them and talk about anything," she said. "And then, just really leading by example and purposing to have a Godly marriage and one that is focused on the Lord. And hopefully the children will learn to fear God and be a servant of all."
The couple announced their pregnancy to People magazine in August after being married two months, surprising many fans of the reality show "19 Kids and Counting."
But most rallied to offer encouragement and support on the couple’s online posts about the baby.
One person wrote on a photo Jill Dillard posted on Instagram showing her baby bump: “So happy for you and @derickdillard. I must say I'm not a religious person but the love your family has for one another and the world is truly inspiring. Thank you for, above all things, being kind in a world that certainly needs it. :)”
