Jim Irsay, owner of the Indianapolis Colts, was carrying $29,000 in cash and numerous prescription pill bottles when he was arrested last week under suspicion of intoxicated driving and drug charges, the Indianapolis Star reported.

The Star published a copy of the arrest report it received after an public records request. That request listed possession of controlled substances under “offenses” and also said the offender wasn’t suspected of using alcohol. Irsay did take a breath test at the scene, although the results were not made public.

The cash was found in a briefcase and laundry bag in the car, the Star said.

Irsay, who refused to take a blood test after his arrest, had such a hard time standing up that police sat him down on a car hood so he didn’t fall over. Irsay said he was not drinking, and an officer at the scene told his supervisor that he “believed Irsay to be intoxicated on a substance other than alcohol,” the Star reported.

Irsay is currently out of state at a medical inpatient facility, although there was no specific treatment listed. In the past, he had said he received treatment for prescription drug abuse.

In a separate story, the Star reported that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Irsay is likely to disciplined by the league.

Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Irsay’s daughter, has taken over the management of the team. The Star reported that she sent a letter to season ticket-holders thanking them for their support and allaying their concerns about the team.

"In the meantime, I want to assure you that all the important work at our training facility will continue, without interruption,” she said, the Star reported. “We have a strong, talented group of football professionals and an experienced and loyal front office team. Everyone will be working to complete a successful free agency season and draft in anticipation of an exciting football season."
