The internet is reverberating with a big bang of its own after the announcement that Jim Parsons — aka Sheldon Cooper — will host “Saturday Night Live.”
Fans reacted online to the news that Parsons will host the March 1 episode, many admitting they aren’t "SNL" fans but will tune in because of Parsons.

“I hardly watch SNL,”
one commenter wrote on Entertainment Weekly's article about the upcoming host. “I will only watch it for Jim Parsons.”
Also popular among comments was Cooper’s trademark “Bazinga!”
Several fans and media publications also wondered if Parsons would get a chance for some payback after Jimmy Fallon closed out "SNL" in 2013 with an awesome Parsons/Cooper impression on one of the show’s “Family Feud” skits. That episode, featuring the former "SNL" star and new "Late Night" host along with Justin Timberlake, pulled in the biggest ratings for "SNL" in a decade.
Joining Parsons on "SNL" will be musician Beck, who is making his seventh appearance on the show, Entertainment Weekly said. Beck’s latest album, “Morning Phase,” will be out Feb. 25.
It’ll be interesting to see if "SNL" does anything with “the kiss” on “Big Bang Theory” that happened recently between Parsons and actress Mayim Bialik, who plays Amy. Fans were gobsmacked when the two finally shared a kiss and they’re still talking about it online.
Parsons admitted the kiss was a sign of a shifting relationship, telling CBS, “It's undeniable that there's been change, and there's been growth. This is new territory, which is exciting.”
