"Fixer Upper" star Joanna Gaines posted on her blog Friday that she is not leaving her hit HGTV show to start a new facial cream business.
"Don’t believe everything you read," she cautioned readers on her blog At Home. "So many things are happening right now and it feels like we are moving at the speed of light," she continued. "At times, it’s even hard to keep our parents in the loop."
Gaines said it is "impossible to control" information online about her family, and that they’ve seen all kinds of wrong information, like how many kids they have (four) and whether they were moving to Las Vegas (they’re not).
She encouraged fans and viewers to look for official information on her blog, official social media pages, and newsletter.
Joanna and husband Chip are shooting Season 5 of “Fixer Upper,” she confirmed, and said she is not starting a facial cream business and is not pregnant with baby No. 5.
She ended the blog by thanking fans for their support, and said, “no worries, believing some of these stories happens to the best of us.”
A post on Facebook claiming to be from Cosmopolitan magazine said Gaines was leaving “Fixer Upper” to start selling facial cream, and the rumor spread quickly.
Gaines will be starting a spinoff of "Fixer Upper" called "Behind the Design," which will air later this year and will focus on Gaines’ design expertise and the aesthetics of home renovations.
Some on Twitter thought it was funny that people believed the fake news.
