Kate Gosselin is holding a garage sale this weekend, according to a local Pennsylvania radio station, which reported the story that's re-sparking rumors about the mother of eight's rumored money troubles.
According to WRFY-FM hosts Jackie and Scott, the Gosselin matriarch is planning a garage sale for Saturday at St. John's United Church of Christ in Wernersville, Pennsylvania. The sale is meant to get rid of some items that are "clogging up their house," the station noted, like toys, books, appliances, car seats, and furniture.
A portion of the proceeds will reportedly be donated to the local
Animal Rescue League, according to The Morning Call newspaper.
Gosselin has been criticized in the past for reportedly selling items that had been donated to her family, which includes 14-year-old twins Mady and Cara, as well as 10-year-old sextuplets. The former star of TLC's "Jon & Kate Plus 8" has since spoken out against the naysayers and those who bashed her for "exploiting" her family on television.
"Hear me very clearly, if there was another way to singly support eight children, you would not know this name and I would be on an island, and so would they,"
Gosselin, 39, said in June, according to InTouch magazine. "You would never hear from us again. Having said that, [TV] is a pretty fantastic way to feed my children, keep them in an amazing house, at an amazing school, and make memories together."
The garage sale comes on the heels of last week's news that
Gosselin's ex-husband, Jon, had been evicted from his Pennsylvania home after failing to pay rent for four months. Sources told Star magazine that Jon Gosselin had signed a $299,000 rent-to-own agreement for the home but broke the terms of the contract by bouncing several checks and skipping rent.
