Olympic luge competitor Kate Hansen's dancing routine — a pre-run ritual that involves her shaking about to Beyonce's music — has garnered the public's attention to the young athlete.
The 21-year-old California-born Hansen, who is competing in the women's single luge competition, discussed her unusual pregame exercise
in a recent interview with NBC Sports.

"My girl, B – she just gets me fierce and I get stoked and I have to," Hansen told NBC Sports when asked about her warmup routine. "I have good mojo going on, so it's just how I roll."
Hansen added that she doesn't care who's watching when she bounces about to her favorite Beyonce songs.
"Honestly I'm in my own world ... I'm completely in my own world — and it doesn't matter who's staring — I'm still going to dance," she added.
Hansen finished in 10th place in the luge competition on Tuesday, while Germany's Natalie Geisenberger captured the gold medal with what
The Associated Press described as a "perfect" trip down the track.
Despite her failure to bring home a medal, Hansen described her experience at the Sochi Olympics as "an absolute dream."
"I’m having so much fun — probably the most fun I’ve ever had sliding," she told NBC Sports. "I’m just stoked to be here and I had two pretty clean runs so I’m just happy."
In addition to Hansen's unusual warmup dance routine, other athletes have also made headlines in recent days for their actions beyond their competitions in the Sochi Winter Olympics.
On Sunday,
20-year-old Estonian athlete Grete Gaim competed in the women's 7.5 kilometer biathlon sprint wearing a pair of intense, steely blue contact lenses. As intimidating as Gaim's blue contacts were,
they did not help her in the competition. She finished in 71st place.
Additionally on Sunday, Russian speed skater
Olga Graf made news for a wardrobe malfunction after winning the bronze medal in the 3,000-meter competition.
After finishing at a personal best time of 4:03.37, Graf unzipped her skating suit down to her belly button and began to take a cool-off lap around the skating rink, forgetting that she wasn't wearing anything underneath her suit.
