Kate Middleton Photoshop Fail: Magazine's Retouching Goes All Wrong

An Australian magazine is being widely criticized for a Photoshop fail of Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton.

Australia’s Woman’s Day cover features the duchess, who appeared at the new Kensington Leisure Centre in London last week. But the magazine altered the image, including lightening her eyes and giving her a different lipstick color, E! Online reported.

The changes left Middleton “completely unrecognizable,” E! Online said.

"They've overworked the image,” Sydney Morning Herald Photo Editor Daniel Adams said, according to The Canberra Times. "They've tried to make it pop, make her sparkle. But it's given her a really hard look; it does not look normal."

He said the image was sharpened and the warmth was pulled from her skin tones.

"It accentuates the wrinkles on her neck, and makes her look more cold," he said.

Us Weekly called the results “downright ghastly.”

Cosmopolitan described the altered image as “a sort of CGI monstrosity that looks half K-Middy and half Walking Dead extra.”

Australia’s Women’s Day reportedly took the cover image off its Facebook page and replaced it with a more natural version.

Twitter users were equally critical.
