Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton recently went shoe shopping for 20-month-old George and his soon-to-come sibling, grabbing the attention of Internet news sites along with her purchases.
The royal mum visited Trotters in London on March 19 and bought a pair of Start-Rite Flexy-Soft Milan
navy blue leather sneakers, Us Weekly reported. Two days later she bought another pair of children’s shoes at a Zara store in Kensington.
"Kate is a fan of the shop and has been in a few times before," a source told Us Weekly of the visit to Zara.
The white leather and beige suede booties she bought there are suitable for newborns but don’t offer any hints to the gender of the expected baby.
"I didn't even know who she was until my colleagues told me afterward,"
the shop assistant who served Kate told People magazine. "She was just normal and friendly."
Middleton also bought some women’s clothing during her visit.
The Royal couple is expecting their second child next month, and many have been speculating about the baby’s gender. Earlier this month she was spotted browsing clothing for girls at Amaia in Chelsea.
“She was very interested,”
the store’s co-owner Segolene Tresca told People. “Every mum that comes in the shop, they look for boys’ [clothes] but they always end up looking at the girls’ stuff too. We all hope it’s a little girl because it will be so cute, they will be like a little couple.”
